Werribee Little Athletics Open Day


Saturday 7th March 2020



Werribee Little Athletics Centre will be hosting an Open Day on Saturday 7th March 2020 to help celebrate its 50th season. The Open Day will be held at the Victoria University Athletics Track, commencing at 1:00pm. First events will be called at 12:50pm and the day will conclude with a fireworks display to recognise 50 seasons of Werribee Little Athletics.

Venue: Victoria University Athletics Track, Hoppers Lane, Hoppers Crossing.

Event Times: Commence 1.00pm with first event call 12.50pm.

The organising committee reserves the right to amend the program if required on the day. 

A fireworks display will conclude the evening at approx 9:00pm.

General Information

Conditions: No Late Entries or Late Changes will be accepted.

No refunds will be processed. Once an entry is submitted, it’s final.
No protests will be entered into. The decision of the Competition Director or Open Day Manager is final.

Werribee Little Athletics Centre reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event due to extreme weather conditions.

Werribee LAC parents will be required to do duty on the day.

Competition: Generally, competition will be conducted in accordance with LAVIC Competition Regulations as revised September 2019.

Uniform: Centre or Club Uniform with current Subway name patch and Coles patch.  

Spikes: Cone/Conical Spikes (Max 7mm) may be worn in accordance with LAVIC rule 143 section footwear and shoes as revised October 2019.

Starting Blocks: May be used in laned track events up to 400m by U11 – U16 Age groups. Only blocks supplied by Werribee LAC may be used. Blocks must be used if Spikes are worn by U11 – U 16 athletes and the athlete is performing a crouch start. All U6 – U16 athletes may do a standing start in all events even when wearing spikes.

Marshalling: All athletes are required to marshal as soon as their event is called over the public address system.

Clash of EventsEvery attempt has been made to avoid field to field clashes. There may potentially be field to track clashes, which are unavoidable. In this instance the track will take precedent. If you are at a field event and are called to a track event please make the Chief Official of your field event knows that you have been called to the track. They will liaise with the track to ensure that you are at the start line for you event.

Progression to FinalThe first three placegetters of heats (two heats) and the next fastest times will progress to finals.  Lanes will be allocated in order of progression to the final.  If insufficient athletes marshal for event heats such that only one heat is required, the event will be run as a final at the scheduled heat time.  Finals fields will be posted on the club room wall following the completion of heats.

Cross Country Season

Cross Country Season is almost here. 

WLAC are joining forces with Brimbank, Williamstown and Altona for another exciting cross country season.

Registration Day on 29th April will be from 9.15am, with the first race expected to start at 10am. For existing WLAC members there will be an additional cost of $25 per athlete (cash only please) to cover Presentation Day costs.

New members are welcome to join WLAC for the Cross Country season. Please visit to finalise your registration. The 2017 Winter Fee (for new members) is $80 per child. 

This year our season consist of 11 rounds, as well as opportunities for our members to compete in Open Days, Road Relays, Regional Championships and State Championships. We will be concluding the season with a presentation day on the 26th of August with a fun handicap race.

Notice of Annual General Meeting of the Werribee Little Athletics Centre

The 2017 Annual General Meeting will be held on MONDAY 1st MAY 2017

Time: 7.30pm.
Venue: The Track – Victoria University.

All Members are invited to attend the AGM – No children please.

Election of the Executive Council
Werribee Little Athletics provides athletic opportunities for hundreds of children – our children – but it needs parents to run the Centre. Without people in these roles the Centre cannot function. Put simply, No Committee – No Centre!

So, please consider volunteering a little of your time. The more volunteers we have, the less each person has to do and the greater the variety of new ideas.

Presentation Day!

Come and join the fun of Presentation Day!  Saturday 25th March 2017 at Werribee Primary School, 2 Deutgam Street Werribee, from 10AM.

There will be rides, face-painting, a BBQ, coffee and a balloon man!

Summer Season Coming Soon

The 2016-2017 Summer Season will start on Sunday October 2nd.

Come and Try Day / Registration Day to be held at the Track on Saturday September 17, between 10am – 12pm.
